The Lion of Venice first appeared as a bronze winged lion sculpture in the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy in the 12th century.
It became the symbol of the city when these bronze sculptures were placed on top of the church of St. Mark, who was the patron saint of Venice.
This genuine leather photo album was handcrafted in a small artisan shop in Florence, Italy, using centuries old tools and techniques.
The gorgeous Vacchetta leather is radiant and slighly padded to the touch. The lion relief image was meticulously hand-tooled. Contrasting brown moire' lines the inside front and back covers.
