Todays beach was quite unique - even though no two days at the beach are alike, it was so different from most other days.
The water washed sand at the shoreline gave way to a seemingly ancient scene - a mottled dry landscape one might find amidst a crater.
Walking on the caked sand crumbling beneath my feet felt like walking back in time. In remembering archaeological finds where such patterns had been hardened and preserved, I guided my footsteps on to the bit of smoother sand nearer to shore.
I was amazed at how yesterday's languid summery air had given way, to a sudden, momentary yet powerful rainstorm and created the bubbled impressions left for me to discover today.
The winds and tides of evening, just before the storm, had carried two young kite surfers into the air & rocketed them across the water. Now calm and having carried away the last bits of yesterdays purple seaweed, the water waits for another picture perfect day...
